This was recorded in late 2000 in the Bi-Fi Basement Studio on Phoenix Street in Ames. We had started recording the Lo-Fi Rainbow album ourselves in our own studio, but decided a few songs in that we really didn't have the engineering/mixing chops that we needed to get the sound we wanted.
Although these tracks were mixed in 2011, this is probably pretty close to what the Lo-Fi Rainbow album would have sounded like had we not decided to go to Catamount Recording in Cedar Falls, IA.
We're glad we did, but also glad that we recorded this little gem. Joe Terry joins us for the most enthusiastic "HEY!" we've ever heard. Our favorite part.
